Royalty Payments5 questions

When are checks issued?

Royalty payments are issued toward the end of each month. Direct deposits post around the same time.

What is the minimum check amount?

Payments are held until your balance reaches $100. Held balances stay on your account and carry forward. Once a year, balances of $10 or more are paid.

What if I do not receive my check?

Please allow 2 weeks after month end before contacting us. We will look into it and, if needed, stop payment and reissue the check.

What if my check is more than 90 days old?

Please mark it void and return it to us. We will void it and reissue payment.

How quickly will Owner Relations respond?

Please allow 2 to 3 business days for a response. Email lets you attach documents. Our phone line is voicemail only.

Forms5 questions

When will I receive my Form 1099?

Form 1099-MISC forms are typically mailed by the end of January for the prior tax year. If you have not received yours by mid-February, contact Owner Relations and we can help.

What if my Form 1099 looks incorrect?

Contact Owner Relations with your owner number and the issue. We will review the reported amounts and, if needed, issue a corrected Form 1099.

When do I need to submit a W-9?

A completed W-9 is required for new owners and whenever your legal name, entity type, or tax ID changes. Download the current form from IRS.gov or request one from Owner Relations, then submit it to PetroLedger.

What is an Affidavit of Heirship and when is it used?

An Affidavit of Heirship helps establish ownership when an owner has passed away and there was no will or probate. It must be completed by disinterested parties and recorded in the county where the property is located. Contact Owner Relations for the document requirements that apply to your situation.

How do I read my royalty check stub?

Your check stub or remittance detail shows the well or property, production month, volumes, deductions, and your net payment. If a line item is unclear, contact Owner Relations with your owner number and the check or payment date and we will walk through it with you.
