Cody Rodriguez- CEO

Before Iron Orchard, Mr. Rodriguez was part of the management team and lead the technical & engineering group at QStar I & II, LLC, an industry leading, equity backed, private oil and gas company founded in 2013 sponsored by EnCap Investments in Houston. QStar was successful in acquiring and operating 40,000 acres in the Midland Basin producing over ≈5,000 BOEPD from over 180 conventional and unconventional wells, ultimately divesting to SM Energy in December 2016 for a total consideration of $1.6 billion.  Prior to QStar he worked at Memorial Production Partners LP (MEMP) managing over 1,000 wells in conjunction with an extensive workover, recompletion and abandonment program alongside a demanding 3 rig horizontal drilling & completion campaign in East Texas. Preceding MEMP, Mr. Rodriguez worked at Devon in East Texas managing field operations for 200 wells, plus a horizontal drilling & completion program for 2 rigs. Mr. Rodriguez has spent significant time managing, evaluating and operating conventional and unconventional assets. He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University (LSU).

Mike Tessari - COO

Prior to his current position, he served as part of the management team and Vice President of Operations for QStar I & II, LLC, an industry leading, equity backed, private oil and gas company founded in 2013 sponsored by EnCap Investments in Houston. QStar was successful in acquiring and operating 40,000 acres in the Midland Basin producing over ≈5,000 BOEPD from over 180 conventional and unconventional wells, ultimately divesting to SM Energy in December 2016 for a total consideration of $1.6 billion.  Starting in 2011, Mr. Tessari was integral to Occidental Petroleum’s (Oxy) Permian Drilling Department, as Drilling Manager overseeing all aspects of their drilling operations eventually departing in 2014. Preceding working at Oxy, Mr. Tessari oversaw Parker Drilling’s drilling teams in constructing, mobilizing and commissioning the world’s largest land rig in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to drill uERD wells under the Beaufort Sea. Between 2006 and 2009 he was sole petroleum & operations engineer for Turnkey E&P, a public exploration & production company that operated oil & gas wells as well as owned and operated four drilling rigs in and around the Gulf Coast of Texas & Louisiana. Mr. Tessari has over 15 years of professional experience and is 2nd Generation oilfield. He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech.

Tom Mahone - CAO

Mr. Mahone has 22 years of energy industry accounting management and FP&A experience. At QStar I & II, LLC, he was the company Controller and had an active part of the management team. He managed due diligence and integration for numerous acquisitions, interest sell-downs and a full divestiture (SM Energy sale) all in the span of an 18 month period. Prior to QStar Mr. Mahone managed accounting for small PE backed companies in Texas and aided in their divestitures. He has managed accounting, prepared financial statements and organized taxation documentation for energy industry companies in E&P (private & public), Oilfield Services and Midstream throughout his career. Mr. Mahone holds a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M University.

Greg Marsh- VP Engineering & Finance

Prior to joining Iron Orchard, Mr. Marsh spent over eight years working the Arabian Gulf in multiple subsurface engineering and subsequent management roles developing large and complex reservoirs. He has extensive experience working with governments and developing win-win scenarios for growth. He began his career on the North Slope of Alaska and then worked over Permian Basin assets from Houston before his overseas roles. He has operated in both onshore and offshore environments. Mr. Marsh holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University (LSU) and an MBA from Duke University.

Matthew Hoops- VP Land & BD

Before joining Iron Orchard, Mr. Hoops spent the majority of his career leading business and subsurface development efforts throughout various basins in the lower 48.  In his most recent 4 years at Devon Energy and WPX Energy, he delivered $800MM in PV20 uplift and led due diligence efforts on $2.5B in acquisitions.  At WPX, he helped raise $500MM in a strategic joint venture with GSO to acquire minerals under WPX’s operated footprint in the Delaware Basin.  Prior to WPX and Devon, he served as the Vice President of Land for Sable Bay Energy and Land Manager for Plantation Petroleum V, both industry leading private equity backed oil and gas companies sponsored by EnCap Investments with a focus in the Delaware Basin and Central Basin Platform respectfully.  Mr. Hoops began his career in East Texas working the Haynseville and Cotton Valley for Anadarko Petroleum; later managing the development of 100,000 gross acres in the Delaware Basin.  He holds a BBA in Energy Management and Finance from the University of Oklahoma.

Josh Peacock- VP Asset Development

Mr. Peacock has over 17 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, primarily focusing on subsurface evaluation, execution, and asset management of Permian Basin assets. Before joining Iron Orchard, he held various positions during his 11 years at Callon Petroleum, most recently serving as Permian Asset Manager. Mr. Peacock led a team of geoscientists, engineers, and other technical staff in evaluating, optimizing, and executing development strategies across a position of approximately 200,000 gross acres: including $4.5+ billion of successful acquisitions and leading multiple integrations. Prior to taking on asset management opportunities, Mr. Peacock was highly instrumental in initiating Callon’s horizontal drilling program, focusing on formation evaluation, reservoir characterization, and well operations. While much of his recent focus has been in the Delaware Basin, he began his early career with Energen Resources, concentrating on the Midland Basin, as well as the Hosston sands, Haynesville, and Bossier shales in North Louisiana and East Texas Salt Basins. He holds a B.S.G. in Geology from the University of Alabama.
